Elim Christian 学校 serves students (ages 3 to 22) who have developmental and/or physical disabilities. There are three 项目 that comprise Elim’s educational services: Elim 桥梁, 琳的十字路口, 和埃琳路径.

The school’s 自闭症 program was designed to meet the needs of students who are diagnosed with 自闭症 spectrum disorder (ASD) and have needs that demand resources beyond Elim’s cross-categorical program.

The 琳的十字路口 Transition Program is designed to provide instruction and experiences that will prepare students for adult life. Elim’s therapists provide treatments focused on supporting the fine and gross motor needs of students. 这些服务可以单独进行, 在小组中, or in the student’s academic environment based on what is written in the student’s IEP. The treatments focus on the individual and educational therapy goals of each student. The therapists also work directly with 老师 and classroom staff to implement functional skills, 定位, 流动性, 以及在学校里的感官策略.

Speech-language pathologists work with 老师 to implement individual 沟通 goals. Students are encouraged to develop their skills in a total 沟通 approach, including the use of verbal and non-verbal techniques and augmentative 沟通 systems.

Elim’s board-certified behavior analysts (BCBAs) use evidence-based methods based on the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to equip Elim students with the skills required to meaningfully participate in their education as independently as possible. BCBAs use behavioral assessments to create individualized behavior 项目 to make data driven decisions regarding their effectiveness while focusing on teaching socially appropriate behaviors. 注册行为技师监督注册行为技师(rbt), 提供员工培训, 制定计划和策略, and collaborate with school staff and Elim families to promote safety and success at school and in the community.

Elim’s nursing staff remains on-site throughout the school day to provide first-aid and emergency care. 对于非紧急, our 护士 assess students for illness and injury as well as identify and manage all students’ health records. The nursing staff is responsible for administering daily medications, 应急药物, 肠内喂养, and training staff on how to perform tasks that are permitted by the Nurse Practice Act to be delegated. 他们与行政部门合作, 老师, related service staff and paraprofessionals to ensure the best individual learning environment for each student. Our 护士 also ensure compliance with national and local health policies. For matters beyond general medical issues compliance is also met by following the guidance set forth by our local health department, the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Illinois State Board of Education.
